How Women Can Come Out of Their Sexual Shells

Have you ever wondered why cats need to climb and jump on furniture or anything high that can support their weight? If you are a cat owner, this is nothing new. You can see your cat go upstairs, watching your surroundings, and barking at the top of your furniture several times a day. In fact, climbing is part of a cat’s natural character. In the wild, they climb for many reasons. It could be disaster prevention, staying away from predators, bird hunting, having a good viewing environment, and an introduction to catching animals on the ground.

Since these behaviours, as well as biting and stalking, are natural to them, it should not come as a surprise that cats also act on these instincts in the home environment even when there are no animals or animals around. Meanwhile, your cat can display these traits by jumping on objects and furniture, even the ones you do not want them to jump on. Case in point, you may have seen those knocking objects off the table or jumping on kitchen tables.

Even if you can’t stop your cat from climbing, you can follow these steps to prevent them from climbing on your desks or other high places in the house. So what are some ways to protect your cat from counters?

Cat Care When There Are No Counters

The most effective solution for keeping your cat from the counter is to remove the test kits, or in other words – make your countertop less pleasing to them. In the meantime, it may be best to allow for alternatives. So without further ado, below are some ways to keep cats away from the counter.

Eliminate sources of temptation

Some cats jump on the counter because something is trying to resist. A common reason why cats want to climb on tables and tables is food is left there. To address this, make sure that food is stored away and not left in the open. If you are unable to put food in, keep it in sealed containers so that your cat does not catch air. Not to mention, it is better to make a habit of cleaning up leftover food items on the table and making dishes right after you finish eating. Also, put a lid on your trash can and keep it out of the reach of your cat. These steps will keep your kitchen from cluttering up your room.

Keep cabinets and cabinets closed securely

To prevent your cat from slipping and slipping into your cupboards and cupboards, protect them with baby diapers that can easily close when not in use.

Close the doors

If you are not there and no one is there to look after your cat, all you can do is lock your kitchen door, dining room, or any other room in your house that you do not want your cat to check on.

Make “booby traps”

Another effective way to prevent cats from jumping on counters or in certain areas of the house is to use “booby traps.” While the word may come out as deceptive or cruel, “booby-trapping” will not harm your cat Instead, it only frustrates the unwanted behaviour. In this case, booby-trapping will make the countertops and tables less pleasing to your cats. So, why keep a cat from a counter with booby traps? Below are some suggestions.

Aluminium Foil

Keep your Cats on Kitchen Counters with foil. Installing aluminium foil on your countertop or other furniture is a simple hack to prevent your cat from climbing on it. Cats don’t seem to like how the aluminium foil feels on their feet, so they try to avoid it. Some cats, however, may be smart enough to throw themselves out, but many pet parents have had great success using it.

Double-Sided Tape

Having something sticking to their legs often offends cats. Therefore, putting double sided tape on your counter can work to keep them from climbing up.

No-Electric Pet Training Mat

Another option is to take a non-electronic pet training mat that serves as a protection to keep your cat on certain furniture.

Use spices

If tightening the traps on your counter does not work, one option is to spray some essential oil mixed with water so that your cats do not stagger and other areas. The list of essential oils that protect cats includes citrus-based (lemon, orange, etc.), lavender, and peppermint.

Give alternatives

One way you can think of it is to give it away to jump over the kitchen. Below you can find some of the other ways to guide the look of your cat.

Ways to find food

If your cat is jumping on your counter because it is looking for food, all you can do is giving them some ways to get it. For example, if your cat has a healthy weight, a free diet can help prevent them from wanting to look for food again. Alternatively, you can try using a pet camera that has a remedy to distract your cat from counter surfing. Other options include lick mat, puzzle feeder, and interactive toys.

Some high places

Let’s say the reason why your cat is jumping on your counter or other furniture is driven by curiosity and having a large space. In that case, there are better ways to handle this situation.

Cat Trees

The cat tree is a good way because it mimics real trees cats love to climb the forest. Your cat may go up immediately, or it may take some time for their appetite to increase.

Cat Condos

Cat condos are also a good alternative. Not only do they give your cat something high to climb to the top, but they also serve as your cat’s leisure centre. Not to mention, cat condos can also include toys that your cat can play with for hours on end.
